Senegal (“Weidi Guiss” Seeing is Believing) Project, In the Sédhiou Region Signara is working with a large-scale exporter of vegetables and fruits with off-taker contracts for buyers in France; uses greenhouse and irrigation technology for year-round farming. Also conducting a demonstration with FEPROBA – the federation of rice farmers in the Anambe basin. Senegal is also funded for the RRVCDP by the IsDB. We also have small scale vegetable, fruit, coos/maize, millet, and groundnut farmers in 3 other regions who are doing AgriPower demonstrations as part of the project. The project is being implemented in partnership with the regional agricultural technicians who are overseeing it. The Senegalese government recently issued a requirement for a proportion of all fertilizers to be organic. Signara is working with local authorities and project partners to register as a government tender competitor.
